Petra, March 4 (Petra) – The first meeting of the project "Promoting Innovation in the Blue Economy through Community Engagement and Entrepreneurship" was launched in Petra, as part of efforts to strengthen sustainable development and youth-led initiatives in the district.

The project is implemented by the Jordan River Foundation, with support from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Jordan, in cooperation with the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority.

The initiative aims to advance blue economy concepts and institutionalize a culture of innovation and community-based entrepreneurship. Participants will undergo specialized training in transformational leadership, entrepreneurial skills, and the design of sustainable initiatives aligned with local development priorities.

Fatima Hilalat, Commissioner for Sustainable Development at Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority, highlighted the importance of empowering youth and strengthening their capacities to launch impactful community projects that contribute to sustainable economic growth in Petra. She noted that partnerships with national and international institutions expand innovation opportunities and open new prospects for young people.
