Amman, April 15 (Petra) -- Prime Minister Jafar Hassan underscored the strategic momentum behind the newly launched $2.3 billion Aqaba Port Railway project on Wednesday, characterizing the venture as a practical manifestation of the shared developmental vision held by His Majesty King Abdullah II and UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

In a statement on X, the Prime Minister emphasized that Jordan and the United Arab Emirates are moving forward with joint investments designed to strengthen the path of development and bilateral cooperation. He noted that the established strategic partnership for the railway project is a cornerstone of a broader economic framework, specifically intended to solidify Aqaba's position as a premier regional hub for trade and logistics.

Hassan extended his gratitude to UAE Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for his consistent support in advancing the project. He highlighted that such high-level backing is essential for translating the directives of both leaderships into tangible results. The Prime Minister concluded by reaffirming Jordan’s determination to pursue growth and development initiatives that provide direct economic benefits to the peoples of both nations.
