Amman, Mar. 8 (Petra) -- Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Jafar Hassan held a series of high-level telephone calls on Sunday with the prime ministers of Palestine and Lebanon, as well as the Saudi Defense Minister, to address "dangerous developments" threatening regional stability.
During the communications, the leaders expressed a unified rejection of Iranian attacks against Arab nations, characterizing them as a grave escalation.
In a call with Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa, both sides emphasized the need for intensified international efforts to contain current tensions and prevent the region from sliding into a broader conflict.
They warned against the exploitation of current conditions to impose "new realities" in the West Bank, Jerusalem, and Gaza, underscoring the legal and humanitarian necessity of protecting the Palestinian people.
Hassan also spoke with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam regarding the "serious deterioration" of security and condemned Israeli attacks on Lebanese territory. The Prime Minister reaffirmed Jordan’s support for the Lebanese government’s efforts to maintain national security during this critical period.
Additionally, in a call with Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman, both officials condemned the Iranian strikes that targeted Jordan and Saudi Arabia alongside other Arab states. They asserted their sovereign right to take all necessary measures to preserve their security and stability.
The discussions concluded with a joint call for an immediate de-escalation, urging a return to diplomatic and political channels to resolve the crisis and prevent the further expansion of regional instability.
