PM receives Syrian, Turkish transport ministers over cooperation

Amman, April 7 (Petra) – Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan on Tuesday received Syrian Minister of Transport, Dr. Ya'rub Badr, and the Turkish Minister of Transport, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, in the presence of Jordanian Minister of Transport Dr. Nidal Qatamin.
During the meeting, talks focused on the importance of today's trilateral meeting held in Amman by the the three countries' transport ministers as a step to strengthen regional cooperation in the land and maritime transport sectors, trade, logistics, and rail connectivity.
Discussions also focused on activating cooperation agreements between the three countries and establishing "clear" mechanisms for implementing joint projects and exchanging expertise in various transport fields, in a bid to serve common economic interests.
The Joint Ministerial Committee for Cooperation in the Field of Transport between Jordan, Syria and Turkey held a meeting in the capital Amman on Tuesday.
Representatives from the public and private sectors and experts in the transport and logistics fields took part in the discussions.
A tripartite memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed aimed at strengthening cooperation and integration in the joint transport sector.
