Prime Ministry to host over 150 experts to discuss Amra City Project development

Amman, Jan. 29 (Petra) – Specialized dialogue sessions are set to be held at Jordan's Prime Ministry headquarters next Saturday to discuss development of the Amra City Project.
In a statement, the Prime Ministry said more than 150 experts from various fields, mainly engineering, urban planning, environment, and transport, will take part in the activities.
Specialists and academics in architecture, energy, environment, water, economics, and investment, as well as representatives from relevant professional associations will also attend the dialogues.
The statement said these sessions are part of the government's efforts to enage Jordanian experts in developing designs for Amra City Project and its associated projects.
Focusing particularly on the first phase, this effort covers productive investment enterprises such as a global exhibition and conference center, and an integrated sports city featuring an international football stadium, an adjacent Olympic complex and halls aligned to meet Olympic standards for various sports.
Based on executive estaimates, work on this phase will begin this year and extend until 2029.
The sessions also aimto listen to the participants' feedbak and proposals and benefit from their expertise to reach at the best practices in developing sustainable cities.
This effort will contribute to creating the nucleus of a modern green city that considers sustainability standards, quality of life, and Jordanian identity, while also opening up promising investment and economic opportunities.
Additionally, 5 ad hoc sessions will be held on issues of urban development and planning, economic impact and future technologies, water, energy and the environment, culture and education, and sports, health, and mobility.
Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan launched the Amra City Project at the end of last November, as infrastructure work started to form a "new model" in urban development and long-term population growth management.
On its feasibility, the project will constitute a nucleus for a model future city for youth and the next generation, implemented under strict organization and planning. Development stages extend over 25 years and transcend governments.
