Amman, Oct. 13 (Petra) – Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince El Hassan bin Talal, president of the Arab Thought Forum (ATF), and Her Highness Princess Sarvath El Hassan, Al-Malath Foundation for Humanistic Care held its 2025 annual charity dinner in Amman, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to providing free hospice care for patients and their families across the Kingdom preserving their dignity and alleviating their suffering.

In his address, Prince El Hassan highlighted the deep humanitarian vision that inspired the founding of Al-Malath, recalling the visit of nurses from the UK-based Macmillan Cancer Support to Jordan in the early 1980s a milestone that introduced the principles of modern palliative care focused on comfort, communication, choice, and control.

He emphasized that these values remain at the heart of the Foundation’s mission today, placing compassion, respect, and human dignity at the core of every care journey.

Prince El Hassan also announced a new humanitarian initiative: the establishment of Jordan’s first dedicated Hospice Care Center, a national project to be completed within the next two years. The center will offer comprehensive medical, psychological, and social care completely free of charge to patients with life-limiting illnesses.

The Prince welcomed the renewal of cooperation with Macmillan Cancer Support through the "Trek to Petra Challenge" event, noting that this partnership coming four decades after Macmillan’s first visit to Jordan marks a meaningful and historic step that reaffirms continued collaboration in advancing compassionate care in the Kingdom.

He expressed appreciation to the Dar Al-Handasah company for designing a space that embodies serenity and comfort for the new center and thanked Al-Malath’s dedicated team for their professionalism and commitment, which reflect the highest standards of humanitarian care.

Mahmoud Sarhan, Chairman of Al-Malath Foundation, said the Foundation’s mission embodies the essence of life dignity and tranquility explaining that its teams strive to bring comfort into patients’ homes, compassion into families’ hearts, and to provide all services free of charge, guided by the belief that illness does not discriminate by financial means.

He added that the Foundation’s goal is to restore a sense of warmth to households and transform fear into peace, affirming that caring for those nearing the end of life is not an ending initself butt a profound expression of the Foundation’s name and noble humanitarian purpose.

The event showcased the Foundation’s 2025 achievements, highlighting its expanded reach and growing services across Jordan’s governorates. It also featured tributes to its staff, partners, and supporters in recognition of their dedication and commitment to its humanitarian mission.

The gala was attended by an array of representatives from national institutions, the diplomatic corps, the private sector, embassies, and partner organizations, who reaffirmed their shared belief that human dignity and compassion form the foundation of all care and service.
