Amman, May 5 (Petra) – His Royal Highness Prince Hassan bin Talal said the region is undergoing profound transformations that require a forward-looking vision grounded in cooperation and integration.

He added that regional trade corridors constitute a civilisational project that demands political will transcending differences, as well as partnerships based on mutual benefit and sustainable management.

He made the remarks during a lecture delivered Tuesday at the Royal Jordanian National Defence College, titled "A Forward-Looking Vision in a Multi-Corridor World and Its Implications for Human Security." Prince Hassan discussed the trajectory of Arab renaissance and the structural transformations of systems over the past three decades.

He discussed Jordan's humanitarian and pivotal regional role, noting that the Kingdom hosts people of more than 53 nationalities. He reaffirmed Jordan's steadfast support for the Palestinian cause and its role in safeguarding Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

He explained that trade corridors are instruments for advancing development and prosperity. Building a better future, he said, is a shared responsibility among Arab states through secure regional corridor projects that encompass transport networks, railways, ports, digital infrastructure and energy.

Prince Hassan called for accurate, reliable data and statistics in enabling decision-makers to tackle poverty and deprivation through productive, high-impact projects.

Integrated thinking, he noted, begins with data, while comprehensive digital databases form the foundation of effective development planning.

He added that the success of projects should be measured not by their size or cost, but by their ability to create jobs and strengthen local production and development systems.

He said that Jordan has worked to enhance governance and directly address humanitarian challenges, urging cross-sector integration and partnership to achieve water, food and energy security, as well as to protect the environment.

The lecture concluded with an extensive discussion, during which Prince Hassan answered questions from attending students.

The session saw the participation by Chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj Gen Yousef Huneiti and several senior officers of the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army.
