Amman, Sept. 30 (Petra) – Fourteen injured servicemen and family members graduated Wednesday from the first cohort of a nine-month entrepreneurship program designed to help participants develop business ideas and prepare viable projects.
HRH Prince Mired bin Raad, Chief Chamberlain and Chairman of the Hashemite Commission for Disabled Soldiers (HCDS), attended the graduation ceremony.
The program, implemented through a partnership between HCDS, AMIDEAST Jordan, and Boeing, provided participants from Amman, Zarqa, Irbid, and Ajloun with training in business establishment and management, digital skills, digital marketing, and the use of social media to reach customers and markets.
The initiative also included psychosocial support, business mentoring, networking with Jordanian companies, entrepreneurs, and startups, and guidance on business models, financing opportunities, and market access.
Talking at the ceremony, Prince Mired said HCDS would continue developing economic empowerment and vocational rehabilitation programs for injured servicemen and their families, with a focus on training and sustainable employment and business opportunities.
Boeing Vice President for the Middle East Gulf and North Africa Fahad Al Mheiri said the program sought to help participants use their skills and experience to develop "sustainable" businesses.
AMIDEAST Jordan Country Director Nour Al Rasheed said the program combined training, practical mentoring, and networking to help participants move from developing ideas to preparing implementable business plans.
Jordan Aircraft Maintenance Limited (Joramco) provided specialized business-management mentoring and training sessions, as well as laptops for participants and support for practical aspects of developing their projects.
The entrepreneurship program builds on previous cooperation between HCDS, AMIDEAST Jordan, and Boeing on training and employment initiatives for injured servicemen, including programs related to the tourism and aviation sectors.
To be held in 2027, a new cohort of injured servicemen and their family members is scheduled to participate in the program.
