Ma'an, Feb 7 (Petra) – HRH Princess Basma Bint Talal, President of the Higher Committee of the Goodwill Campaign, implemented by the Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development (JOHUD), on Saturday handed out aid to targeted groups in the city of Ma'an.
The campaign provided emergency aid to 30 female-headed households, including food parcels, fuel vouchers, scholarships, and support for young women to help them start income-generating projects.
Princess Basma also distributed gifts, toys, and winter clothing to orphaned children.
During the aid distribution at the Princess Basma Development Center in Ma'an, attended by JOHUD Executive Director Farah Daghistani and Ma'an Governor Khaled Hajjaj, Her Highness said she is proud of Jordanian woman who create sustainable income-generating projects that provide permanent income for themselves and their families.
She pointed out that home-based production projects are a pioneering initiative that enables Jordanian women to indirectly join the labor market, contribute to economic development and reduce unemployment amidst limited job opportunities.
Princess Basma reiterated the campaign's commitment to supporting partners to ensure the success and sustainability of these projects and equipping women with skills to manage and market their products.
She also met with a group of young men and women who participated in a training program on the safe and responsible use of social media and the use of artificial intelligence in digital content creation, as well as participants in the "My Colors Are My Story" initiative, which trains young people to utilize art as a means of creativity and self-expression, and the "Healthy Lifestyle" initiative, which raises awareness about obesity and chronic diseases.
The "Healthy Lifestyle" initiative aims to guide individuals toward adopting a healthy and balanced lifestyle through awareness programs and practical applications implemented in a supportive environment. Its goal is to improve dietary habits and increase awareness of the importance of physical activity and various sports.
