Princess Sumaya Patronises 42nd Graduation Ceremony of Amman Baccalaureate School

Amman, June 14 (Petra) -- Her Royal Highness Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Amman Baccalaureate School, patronised the graduation ceremony of the Amman Baccalaureate School’s 42nd graduating class of 2026.

HRH Princess Sumaya affirmed that the graduates carry with them the knowledge, values and experiences they have gained throughout their educational journey, enabling them to become active contributors to their communities and country and to play a meaningful role in Jordan’s continued development and progress.

Her Royal Highness noted that the occasion provides an opportunity to reflect on the vision of the Amman Baccalaureate School’s founders, His Royal Highness Prince El Hassan bin Talal and Her Royal Highness Princess Sarvath El Hassan, and their enduring belief that education is the highest form of investment and the strongest foundation for the advancement and prosperity of nations.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Principal of the Amman Baccalaureate School, Fiyaz Ahmed, said that privilege is not merely an opportunity, but a responsibility that requires individuals to use their knowledge and skills in service of others and to make a positive impact on society.

The graduates’ address was delivered by Class Valedictorian Zein Younes, who expressed her pride, and that of her fellow graduates, in being part of the Amman Baccalaureate School community. She also thanked the academic and administrative staff for their unwavering support, guidance and dedication throughout their years at the School.

During the ceremony, HRH Princess Sumaya presented awards to outstanding students during the ceremony, including the Award for Academic Excellence, the Khalil Talhouni Award for the Promotion of Arab and Islamic Culture, the STEAM Award, the King Constantine Award for Round Square, the International Schools Educational Cooperation Award for International Understanding, and the Board of Trustees Award for Excellence in Representing Jordan.

The Class of 2026 also celebrated exceptional university placements, securing offers from leading institutions in Jordan and around the world, including prestigious Ivy League and Russell Group universities, alongside other highly regarded international universities.

The ceremony featured a special artistic tribute presented by the Amman Baccalaureate School as a gift to the nation in celebration of the Jordan national football team’s historic qualification for the FIFA World Cup. The tribute took the form of a performance of Tahya Al Malaeb by Omar Al Abdallat, featuring Grade 12 students, and came as a memorable surprise to the audience, reflecting the pride and joy inspired by this landmark national achievement.

The celebration also included a performance of Allah Ya Hal Watan by Jordanian singer Zain Awad accompanied by the Amman Baccalaureate School Choir, in a moving expression of national pride and belonging.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, HRH Princess Sumaya presented diplomas to the graduates of the Class of 2026.
