Amman, Feb 23 (Petra) - Director of Public Security Directorate (PSD) Major General Obeidallah Al-Maaytah on Monday patronized the annual evaluation ceremony and the 2025 Security Excellence Awards, held at the PSD headquarters, in the presence of several senior PSD officers.

During the ceremony, Major General Al-Maaytah conveyed the congratulations of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to PSD personnel on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan and His Majesty’s pride in the sincere and diligent efforts they exert to serve the homeland and citizens.

The PSD Director affirmed that organizing this celebration annually aims to entrench a culture of creativity and excellence among all units and formations and to enhance an environment of positive competition among them, in a manner that contributes to raising the level of performance and developing capabilities in line with the requirements of modern security work and enhancing the quality of services provided to citizens.

Major General Al-Maaytah stressed the importance of investing in human capital, supporting development initiatives and continuing the institutional modernisation approach to achieve the highest levels of efficiency and readiness across various locations, keeping pace with rapid developments in the security and administrative fields.

He noted that this recognition embodies the directorate’s appreciation of the sincere efforts and distinguished achievements realized by the honorees and reflects the scale of development witnessed by the security system, affirming that excellence constitutes an incentive to continue working in a spirit of responsibility and belonging to serve the homeland and safeguard its resources.

The PSD chief listened to a briefing delivered by the Inspector General, who outlined the performance evaluation mechanisms and the criteria for granting the awards, which were based on precise indicators to measure the quality of fieldwork, the level of readiness, and professional competence.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Major General Al-Maaytah presented the awards to the honorees in recognition of their efforts and contributions to advancing the path of security excellence.
