PSD Chief: Traffic Institute key to promoting safety concepts

Amman, Jan 7 (Petra) – Public Security Director (PSD) Director General, Major General Obaidullah Maayta, called on the Jordan Traffic Institute on Wednesday for a briefing on its efforts and awareness programs to improve road safety.
The PSD Chief conveyed the appreciation of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander, of public security personnel for their "dedicated and tireless" efforts in carrying out their security, humanitarian, and community tasks.
Maayta said the Traffic Institute is a key pillar of the national traffic safety strategy through implementing awareness programs, stressing collaborative efforts by all traffic departments.
He urged the institute to continue developing awareness and training programs and expanding them to schools, universities, and social institutions to promote safe traffic concepts in society.
The Public Security head pledged continued logistical and technical support of the Traffic Institute to carry out its national role as a leading specialized center for building a safe and integrated traffic system.
The institute's director gave a briefing on key aspects of its work and programs being implemented, as well as technical equipment and systems used in training and awareness programs to enhance traffic safety on the Kingdom's roads.
