Amman, May 7 (Petra)-- Public Security Directorate (PSD) Director Maj. Gen. Obaidallah Al-Maaytah on Thursday patronized the graduation ceremony of the Syrian Police Qualification Preparation Course, held at the Jordan International Police Training Center, in the presence of Syrian Interior Ministry Assistant for Human Resources Affairs Mohammad Fatouh.
The training course was conducted as part of Jordan’s ongoing role in supporting and building the capacities of Arab security agencies, while strengthening security and training cooperation with brotherly and friendly countries.
Jordan’s Public Security Directorate fully covered the training and logistical needs of the Syrian trainees, in line with the Hashemite leadership’s directives to support the Syrian people across various sectors, including policing and security.
The ceremony, attended by senior Public Security Directorate officers and the accompanying Syrian delegation, featured military demonstrations and advanced field exercises simulating a variety of security scenarios in different environments. The exercises reflected the participants’ competence, the quality of the training program, and their ability to carry out duties efficiently under various conditions.
A total of 300 new police recruits underwent a comprehensive training program in modern police sciences, alongside practical exercises that included physical fitness, self-defense, and the use of various weapons, in a manner that meets fieldwork requirements and keeps pace with the latest security methods.
Maj. Gen. Al-Maaytah distributed appreciation awards to outstanding participants, wishing them success in carrying out their security mission to maintain safety and order and serve their country and society.
He urged the graduates to uphold a high sense of responsibility, become a driving force in developing and modernizing police work in Syria, and transfer the knowledge and policing skills they acquired to their colleagues across various security fields.
For his part, Fatouh praised the efforts made in preparing and training the participants, commending the existing cooperation and coordination. He also expressed gratitude to Jordan’s Public Security Directorate for its role in ensuring the success of the program and achieving its intended objectives.
