Amman, March 2 (Petra) -- The Public Security Directorate called on citizens residing in the vicinity of the U.S. Embassy in Amman to take precautionary and preventive safety measures upon hearing sirens.

The PSD stressed the importance of staying indoors until any threat subsides (hearing a continuous, uninterrupted siren), closing windows, and staying away from them.

It also called on drivers to immediately stop their vehicles and head to the nearest building, seeking shelter near staircases until the threat ends.

It said that, when necessary, people should not hesitate to contact the unified emergency number, 911.

The directorate affirmed that "these precautionary preventive measures are taken to ensure public safety and do not cause panic among citizens, and we advise everyone to adhere to them." //Petra// AF
