Amman, Dec. 11 (Petra) -- The Jordan Red Crescent Society has sounded the alarm over a fraudulent link circulating widely on Facebook, warning citizens to avoid clicking on it or providing any personal information.

The misleading link, which has spread over the past few days, falsely claims that users can register for cash assistance by entering their names and personal details. The Red Crescent stressed that it has no connection to the link and urged the public to treat it as a scam attempt targeting vulnerable users.

The organization cautioned against opening the link or submitting any personal data or official documents, highlighting the growing risks of online fraud and identity theft. It emphasized that such schemes can exploit personal information for harmful or illegal purposes.

The Red Crescent reiterated that all legitimate announcements and updates are posted exclusively through its verified social media accounts. It called on citizens to remain vigilant, verify information before sharing, and rely solely on trusted official channels to avoid falling victim to digital misinformation or scams.
