Amman, May 17 (Petra) -- The Royal Hashemite Documentation Center (RHDC) on Sunday convened a panel of historians and technical experts to evaluate the progress of the comprehensive National Narrative Project, an ongoing state-backed initiative to document the country's modern history from official primary sources.
The academic session of the Committee on the History of the Great Arab Revolt and the Jordanian State was chaired by Zeidan Kafafi, head of the technical writing committee. It was attended by Muhannad Mubaideen, RHDC Manager, and Bassam Al Btoush, who leads the historical research team covering the era of the Great Arab Revolt to the contemporary period.
Al Btoush detailed the committee's research milestones, outlining individual archival efforts alongside the institutional challenges encountered while managing complex historical datasets. He stated that approximately 70% of the core documentation project has been completed. The upcoming phase will focus on cross-referencing and analyzing expansive, multi-layered data to finalize the project in accordance with rigorous academic and archival standards.
The technical committee commended the research team's progress and provided specific methodological guidelines to optimize the broader national historical database. The oversight panel emphasized the necessity of relying strictly on verified primary and secondary source materials to ensure the narrative delivers precise data reflecting Jordan's political evolution and the role of local communities in building state institutions.
Mubaideen reaffirmed that the RHDC has made its entire archival repository accessible to the designated research teams. He added that the center supports the project through its national publishing program and the peer-reviewed Raghadan Academic Journal, which specializes in historical and document-based research.
The session was attended by committee members and prominent Jordanian historians, including George Tarif, Baker Khazer Al-Majali, Fathi Al-Daradkeh, Muntaha Al-Abdallat, Faisal Al-Ghoween, Ghazi Al-Lababdeh, and Rabie Al-Farajat.
