Royal Court Chief Inspects Development Projects in Balqa, Irbid

Balqa and Irbid, July 16 (Petra) – Royal Hashemite Court Chief Yousef Issawi on Thursday checked on several Royal Initiative projects in Balqa and Irbid governorates to review progress and assess services provided at other fully operational facilities.

Issawi, who also chairs the committee overseeing the implementation of Royal Initiatives, said the visits reflect continued field monitoring in line with His Majesty King Abdullah II’s directives to ensure development and service projects are completed and operated, in acoordance with "high" standards.

In Balqa, Issawi inspected the rehabilitation and development of Mahis Park, which is 95 percent complete. The 3,442-square-meter project houses a renovated library, children’s play areas, a multipurpose sports court, seating, walkways, and public facilities.

He also visited the ISO City company project in Fuheis, which is 99 percent complete. The 4,000-square-meter facility is expected to create about 220 jobs in software, computer and information services, electronics, and artificial intelligence.

The project is part of the Productive Branches Initiative, which seeks to create jobs for Jordanians near their places of residence and reduce commuting costs. Issawi said it reflects the Royal vision of providing specialized employment opportunities for young people through partnerships with the private sector.

Meanwhile in Salt, Issawi reviewed work to develop the Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II Sports Complex into a sports city. The project, which is 88 percent complete, includes upgrades to existing buildings, stands, public spaces, drainage systems, and other facilities to support sports, youth, and community activities.

In Irbid, he visited the Zaha Cultural Center, which opened on April 27, 2024. The facility provides educational, cultural, sports, and vocational programs for children and young people, including computer skills, robotics, creative thinking, English, art, Arabic calligraphy, self-defense, and training programs for local women.

Issawi also inspected the Masharea Comprehensive Center for Special Education, established under the Royal Initiatives following a Royal visit to the area in 2019. The center, which can serve about 100 beneficiaries, provides early disability diagnosis, education, rehabilitation, and behavioral services.

Concluding the tour, he inspected maintenance work at the Dhat Al-Nitaqayn Women’s Charitable Society building in Deir Alla, carried out to strengthen the society’s social and development role in serving local families.

Issawi said Royal Initiatives represent a "sustainable" development approach aimed at improving services, creating jobs, empowering young people, women, and persons with disabilities, and supporting comprehensive development across the Kingdom.
