Moscow, August 26 (Petra) – Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday reaffirmed Russia's unwavering support for Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity, expressing Moscow's interest in further developing relations with Damascus.

According to a Kremlin statement, Putin and Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa discussed the development of relations between the two countries during a telephone call.

Putin reaffirmed Russia's firm position on preserving Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity, the statement said.
