Moscow, Oct. 27 (Petra) -- The Russian Central Bank said Tuesday it had lowered the official exchange rates for major currencies against the ruble, setting the dollar at about 81 rubles, the euro at 90 rubles, and the Chinese yuan at 12 rubles.
In a statement, the Central Bank said the decline in foreign currency rates against the ruble reflects movements in the domestic exchange market, with the Russian currency affected by foreign exchange inflows from exports and domestic demand for currencies, alongside prevailing monetary and fiscal policies.
