Russian central bank strengthens official ruble rates against US dollar, Chinese yuan

Moscow, Aug. 22 (Petra) -- The Bank of Russia raised the official exchange rate of the ruble against both the U.S. dollar and the Chinese yuan Saturday, with the ruble gaining 43.39 kopecks against the dollar to settle at approximately 82.92 rubles per dollar.
According to a statement issued by Russia’s central bank, the ruble weakened slightly against the euro by 12.66 kopecks, bringing the European currency's rate to about 96.86 rubles.
Meanwhile, the ruble rose against the Chinese yuan by 7.14 kopecks, setting its official exchange rate at roughly 12.33 rubles per yuan.
