Amman, March 3 (Petra) -- Saudi Arabia, on behalf of the Arab Group, on Monday strongly condemned Iranian attacks targeting Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, affirming that these attacks constitute a grave violation of international law, a clear breach of the United Nations Charter, and a direct assault on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states.
The statement was delivered during the Kingdom’s participation in remarks presented by its Permanent Representative to the United Nations and international organizations in Geneva, Ambassador Abdulmohsen bin Majed bin Khathila, on behalf of the Arab Group, in the general debate under item two as part of the 61st session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva.
In the statement, carried by the Saudi Press Agency, Saudi Arabia affirmed that this targeting represents a serious violation of international humanitarian law and international human rights law and threatens regional stability and international peace and security.
It stressed that these attacks come at a time when Arab states were exerting intensive efforts toward mediation, de-escalation, and prioritizing political solutions and dialogue, making this escalation unjustified and undermining efforts aimed at achieving security and stability.
