Saudi envoy delivers annual Saudi financial contribution to UNRWA

Amman, May 5 (Petra) – Saudi Ambassador to Jordan Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan Al Saud presented a check for two $2 million to the Acting Commissioner-General of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Christian Saunders, on Tuesday.
The check for $2 million represents the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's annual contribution to support the agency's budget, programmes and operations in the region.
Al Saud said the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is committed, under the guidance of its leadership, to supporting the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people, as well as supporting UNRWA's budget to enable it to fulfill its humanitarian, social, educational and health obligations and responsibilities towards Palestinian refugees, particularly in light of the difficult circumstances they face.
He commended the vital role played by UNRWA in providing humanitarian and relief services to the Palestinian people and contributing to alleviating their suffering.
For his part, Saunders expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its continued and unwavering support, which contributes to enabling the agency to implement its programmes to serve and provide relief to Palestinian refugees.
