Amman, March 18 (Petra) – Senate President Faisal Fayez mourned three Public Security Directorate personnel, who were killed Wednesday morning during a raid by the Anti-Narcotics Department on a wanted drug suspect in East Amman.

The officers, First Lieutenant Murad Al-Mawajdeh, Sergeant Khaldoun Al-Raqab, and Corporal Subhi Duwaikat died and A fourth non-commissioned officer was injured in an exchange of fire with the suspect, who was arrested and weapons and drugs were seized at the scene. "We in the Senate, while mourning the three martyrs of the nation, who fell to treacherous bullets while performing their duty, extend our deepest condolences and sincere sympathies to the families, relatives, and loved ones of the martyrs, and to all members of our armed forces and security services," Fayez said.

"We pray to God Almighty to grant them His abundant mercy and forgiveness, and to inspire their families and loved ones with patience, solace, and comfort. We also wish a speedy recovery to their wounded colleague," he said.

He also called for a firm hand against drug traffickers and dealers and all those trying to tamper with the security and stability of the nation, adding that the armed forces and security services must remain vigilant against every terrorist, corrupt individual, and outlaw.

Fayez expressed pride in the "heroism and sacrifices of the brave men of our armed forces and security services" as they confront the corrupt, oppressive, and lawless elements. "The treacherous hand that committed this heinous crime will receive a fair punishment," he added.
