Amman, Nov. 26 (Petra) Senate President Faisal Al-Fayez said Wednesday that Jordan will remain resilient in the face of terrorism and extremism, stressing that the Kingdom will not be intimidated by "cowardly acts of evil." He affirmed that Jordan will continue to stand strong, secure and stable thanks to the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the awareness of its people and the strength of its security agencies and armed forces.
Al-Fayez said in a statement that Tuesday’s security operation targeting wanted individuals carrying extremist ideology and linked to dangerous criminal activity underscores the readiness of the security services and the Jordan Armed Forces to counter anyone attempting to undermine the country’s security and stability.
He noted that Jordanians have long been raised on sacrifice and devotion to protect the nation’s soil, adding that the country’s history is marked by pride and dignity, with the armed forces and security agencies always at the forefront, offering their blood to safeguard Jordan’s security.
Fayez emphasized that Jordanians, under the Hashemite leadership, have always viewed their armed forces and security services as the vigilant guardians of the nation and a source of pride, commending their continuous sacrifices in defending the homeland and its just causes. Today, he said, they stand firm along the borders, protecting the country from any threats or hostile acts.
He added that extremist and terrorist groups, through their "desperate criminal acts," will only strengthen Jordan’s resolve and determination to combat all forms of terrorism, stressing the need to reinforce national unity and rally firmly behind His Majesty the King in confronting threats to the country’s security and stability.
Extending wishes for the speedy recovery of those injured in Tuesday’s operation in Ramtha, Al-Fayez called on the security agencies and the armed forces to continue taking firm action against anyone seeking to endanger the Kingdom.
