Amman, Nov. 18 (Petra) – The Singapore–Jordan Regional Vocational Training Center in Amman recently held a high-level capacity-building program focused on the future of Industry 4.0 and the digital creative economy.
The training program, titled "Industry 4.0 and Innovation Management," was organized under the Singapore Cooperation Program (SCP) and supervised by the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore’s Technical Training Institute, which oversees capacity-building initiatives. It took place at the Singapore–Jordan Regional Vocational Training Center, established under the Asia–Middle East Dialogue (AMED) framework.
According to a statement by BIGO Technology on Tuesday, officials from Jordan and several countries across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia took part in the program to discuss challenges and opportunities stemming from rapid industrial and technological transformation.
Singaporean experts and industry partners presented the latest trends in Industry 4.0, innovation management, and governance, emphasizing the urgent need for stronger public–private collaboration to develop flexible regulatory frameworks capable of keeping pace with technological advancements.
Data from the U.S. International Trade Administration indicate that Jordan’s ICT and digital-economy sector is projected to grow more than fourfold, rising from USD 1.27 billion to USD 5.46 billion by 2033.
Speakers explained that Industry 4.0 is reshaping global manufacturing and supply chains by enhancing data transparency and increasing the use of autonomous equipment, accelerating the integration of artificial intelligence and human-machine collaboration in industrial operations.
They added that digital technologies are also transforming the global creative economy as barriers to production decline and the circulation of massive datasets accelerates.
BIGO Technology, one of Singapore’s fastest-growing tech companies, was among the key participants, presenting its experience in Jordan, where the company expanded from two employees in 2019 to more than 1,000 staff across its Amman and Irbid offices.
The company showcased case studies demonstrating the importance of embedding technology within clear governance frameworks, citing the BIGO LIVE platform as an example of cooperation between digital platforms and regulators to strengthen online safety, understand user trends, and address challenges before they escalate. BIGO affirmed its continued commitment to working with government agencies to ensure a safer digital environment.
