Social Development Minister, International Rescue Committee Discuss Childhood Cooperation

Amman, Oct. 18 (Petra) -- Social Development Minister Wafa Bani Mustafa on Sunday discussed with International Rescue Committee (IRC) representative Eka Zhavania ways to strengthen cooperation in social development, particularly child development and care and improving services and programs for children.

During the meeting, Bani Mustafa stressed the importance of partnerships with international organizations in supporting national efforts to strengthen the social protection system and improve the quality of services provided to beneficiary groups, in line with national priorities and relevant strategies.

She said Jordan's national child development and care policy is based on a comprehensive, integrated national system aimed at ensuring a safe and supportive environment for children's healthy growth and development, in accordance with their best interests.

Bani Mustafa said the ministry developed the policy in cooperation with the National Council for Family Affairs, in coordination with relevant national institutions and supporting partners, to establish a comprehensive national framework that strengthens institutional integration and coordination among entities involved in early childhood development and care.

She reaffirmed the ministry's commitment to continued cooperation with local and international partners and to exchanging expertise and best practices in social development to improve national policies and programs and ensure the sustainability of services provided to children and families.

Zhavania highlighted the importance of programs serving various social groups, including children, and commended the ministry's efforts in this regard.
