Amman, June 23 (Petra) - The Social Security Corporation (SSC) called on insured women in the private sector on Tuesday to submit their IBANs in advance via official banking channels to ensure quick transfer of maternity benefits upon newborn registration.
The SSC said its advance payment service allows eligible women to receive maternity benefits automatically in their bank accounts without submitting an online application.
Eligibility requires at least six social security contributions, continuous or intermittent within the past 12 months, provided the insured woman is employed at the time of delivery.
The benefit is paid in a single installment covering the full 70-day maternity leave period, in line with the Kingdom’s Labour Law.
The SSC said the service is part of broader efforts to improve services for insured women, streamline procedures, and eliminate paperwork. Under the system, payments are triggered automatically upon registration of the newborn, ensuring faster and more efficient access to maternity entitlements.
