Amman, Nov. 10 (Petra) -- Calm autumn air will linger across the country through midweek, as temperatures ease gradually after a warm start, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department.

On Monday, temperatures will climb 5 to 6 degrees Celsius above seasonal averages, bringing moderate weather across most regions and relatively warm conditions in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Medium and high clouds will appear from time to time, while southeasterly winds blow at a moderate pace, occasionally picking up over the desert.

Tuesday will bring a slight drop in temperatures, keeping the weather mild and comfortable overall, with clouds lingering at medium and high altitudes. Southeasterly winds will shift northwesterly by midday, remaining light to moderate.

By Wednesday and Thursday, soft autumn weather will take hold, with pleasantly mild air in most regions and moderate warmth around the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Varying cloud layers will pass overhead, and northwesterly winds will stay moderate and steady.

Temperature readings for Monday show highs and lows of 28 and 15 degrees Celsius in East Amman, 26 and 14 in West Amman, 26 and 14 in the northern highlands, and 27 and 12 in the Sharah highlands.

In desert areas, temperatures will range between 30 and 12 degrees, while the plains are expected to record 29 and 14 degrees. The northern Jordan Valley will see 35 and 18 degrees, compared to 34 and 19 degrees in the southern Jordan Valley.

Around the Dead Sea, temperatures will reach 35 and 19 degrees, and 34 and 20 degrees in Aqaba.
