Ajloun, March 18 (Petra) -- Tourist facilities in Ajloun Governorate, including hotels, cabins, parks, and nature reserves, have completed preparations to welcome visitors during the Eid al-Fitr holidays to enjoy the spring weather and natural scenery, officials and business owners said on Wednesday, with expectations of a rise in occupancy rates.

Ajloun Development Zone Director Tariq Maaytah said the cable car service carried out maintenance and inspection work to ensure the safety of visitors, having prepared a children's play area, a heritage tent, the ninth Ajloun Spring Festival, and the 25th Ajloun Products and Handicrafts Exhibition.

All tourist facilities and services are in place to receive large numbers of visitors over the Eid, said Firas Khatatbeh, Director of Tourism of the Ajloun Governorate, predicting a 100 percent occupancy rates, with increased bookings in protected areas, restaurants, and hotels, attracting both local and tourists from Gulf states.

For his part, Director of the Ajloun Forest Biosphere Reserve, Uday Qudah, said the reserve is ready to welcome visitors during the holidays and summer season, adding that food, accommodation, hiking trails, and recreational areas are available, with cabins accommodating up to 150 guests.

Ali Fandi, owner of Rajib Tourist Resort, said the resort is equipped with all necessary services for the visitors' comfort, noting that his facility will welcome families and groups over the holidays.

Fahim Smadi, another owner of tourist resorts, predicted the governorate will see "unprecedented" tourism activity, with all services, including food, accommodation, and diverse nature experiences available. This will boost domestic tourism and help development of local tourism projects, he added.
