Amman, Mar. 20 (Petra)-- Minister of Transport Nidal Al-Qatamin chaired an expanded meeting on Thursday at the ministry’s headquarters, bringing together Secretary-General Fares Abu Diyyeh, heads of affiliated agencies, and senior officials to review progress on transport sector projects tied to the Economic Modernization Vision.

During the meeting, Al-Qatamin stressed the need to intensify efforts to accelerate project implementation and shorten completion timelines, highlighting the positive impact this would have on the efficiency of the transport sector and its ability to support economic activity and stimulate investment.

He underscored the importance of continuous and close monitoring of all projects, along with enhanced coordination among relevant entities to overcome challenges and achieve advanced completion rates in line with approved plans. The minister noted that transport projects are a key pillar of the government’s broader modernization agenda.

The discussions also covered executive plans for ongoing and future projects, as well as mechanisms to improve their development and management efficiency. This, he said, would help achieve greater integration across different modes of transport and deliver more efficient and sustainable services.

Participants further emphasized aligning transport sector projects with national priorities to strengthen the sector’s role in driving comprehensive development, in line with government efforts to upgrade infrastructure and improve public services.

The meeting comes as part of the Ministry of Transport’s ongoing approach to closely track its strategic projects and ensure their implementation according to the highest efficiency standards, reinforcing the sector’s position as a key driver of economic growth.
