Amman, April 15 (Petra) – United Arab Emirates Energy Minister Suhail Al Mazrouei said on Wednesday the Aqaba Port Railway Project will contribute to creating new job opportunities and pave the way for launching other development and investment projects in Jordan, strengthening infrastructure and supporting sustainable economic growth.
He said in press remarks that the $2.3 Billion Railway project supports increased trade through Jordan, leveraging its strategic geographic location, which enhances its status as a regional transport and logistics hub and solidifies its position as a pivotal regional trade center.
Al Mazrouei said the UAE views its relationship with Jordan with confidence, adding that the partnership will lead to the implementation of new joint projects that serve the interests of both brotherly nations and support development initiatives, positively impacting the economies of both countries.
The project will enhance the economic competitiveness of the Port of Aqaba as a strategic regional gateway for transport, shipping, and logistics services. It will also open up broad development opportunities in the Kingdom, particularly in the southern governorates and the Jordan Valley, according to officials.
