Amman, April 18 (Petra) – The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) on Saturday expressed outrage after Israeli forces killed two truck drivers working for the organization to deliver clean water to families in the Gaza Strip.
The attack, in which two other people were injured, occurred on Friday during a routine water delivery operation at the Al-Mansoura water tanker station, which supplies Northern Gaza with water, UNICEF said in a statement.
The attack prompted UNICEF to suspend operations at the site, and it called on the Israeli authorities to investigate. It stressed the need for protection of humanitarian workers, civilians, and vital water infrastructure under international humanitarian law.
According to the Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza, more than 750 civilians have been killed by Israeli forces since a ceasefire was reached on October 10.
