U.S. stocks drop for second straight session as oil prices advance

New York, Aug 11 (Petra) -- Major U.S. stock indexes closed lower for a second consecutive session on Tuesday, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude rose by $1 to settle at $83.35 per barrel.
At the close of trading, the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 184 points, or 0.34 percent, to 53,792.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite slipped 159 points, or 0.60 percent, to finish at 26,445.
The broad-based S&P 500 fell about 33 points, or 0.32 percent, to end at 7,720.
