Amman, May 17 (Petra) -- The Vocational Training Corporation (VTC) launched the first phase of its "Training of Trainers" program in professional entrepreneurship, aimed at empowering youth, strengthening entrepreneurial skills, and expanding employment opportunities in line with the Economic Modernization Vision.
According to a statement issued by the corporation Sunday, the first phase included two specialized training programs targeting trainers, institute directors, and staff members across the vocational training sector.
The first program was held at the corporation’s headquarters with the participation of 20 trainees, including VTC staff, entrepreneurship trainers, and trainers from the Childcare Center. The second program was hosted by the Abu Nseir Vocational Training Institute and included 26 participants representing vocational training institutes in the Central Region, Childcare Center trainers, and staff from relevant directorates.
The training covered practical and modern entrepreneurship concepts, including project development mechanisms, transforming ideas into viable business models, innovative marketing strategies, customer behavior analysis, marketing mix applications, and the use of artificial intelligence tools in business development and entrepreneurial activities.
The corporation said the program builds on the development of a professional entrepreneurship curriculum officially approved by the institution’s curriculum accreditation committee.
The curriculum was developed through a partnership between the Vocational Training Corporation and World University Service of Canada (WUSC) under the "Bokra" project funded by the Canadian government, in cooperation with Edama Consulting Group.
The project included reviewing and updating the curriculum to align with labor market requirements, developing a trainers’ guide, and implementing four training-of-trainers courses covering all regions of the Kingdom and supervisory teams responsible for program follow-up and development.
The corporation noted that the updated curriculum integrates digital marketing and artificial intelligence applications as core components supporting innovation and entrepreneurial projects.
It described the partnership between the government institution, international organization, and local consulting firm as a successful collaborative model that can be replicated in future workforce development initiatives.
The corporation also highlighted the role of the program in promoting successful entrepreneurial experiences and supporting efforts to reduce unemployment and increase women’s participation in the labor market, particularly within the childcare sector, while maximizing the benefits of available youth empowerment funding initiatives.
The next phase of the program is scheduled to continue in the coming weeks, targeting institutes in the northern and southern regions in cooperation with the Training and Development Institute, as part of efforts to expand the program nationwide and ensure the sustainability of its impact in preparing qualified professionals equipped with leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurship skills aligned with the modern economy.
