New York, Jan. 28 (Petra) - Major US stock indexes were mixed on Wednesday, fluctuating between declines, gains, and stability, while US crude oil continued to rise, reaching $63.39 per barrel.

Ahead of the market close, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by nearly 40 points, while the technology-heavy Nasdaq index rose by about 50 points.

Meanwhile, the Standard & Poor’s 500 (S&P 500) index was stable at 6,978 points.
