Zarqa, August 1 (Petra) – The value of Zarqa's exports (re-exports) reached approximately JD20.96 million in July of this year, according to statistics from 397 certificates of origin issued by the Zarqa Chamber of Commerce (ZCC) and its office in the Zarqa Free Zone.
In a statement to "Petra" on Saturday, ZCC Head, Hussain Shraim, said the city's exports diversified last month to cover numerous economic sectors.
He noted that cars and their spare parts accounted for the largest share of exports, followed by building materials and sanitary ware, pharmaceuticals and medical supplies, foodstuffs, clothing and jewelry, as well as electrical and electronic appliances, home and office furniture, and stationery.
On their expansion, Shraim said these exports reflect the continued commercial activity in Zarqa and the roleof various commercial sectors in supporting economic growth and strengthening the city's position as a "vital" commercial hub connected to local and international markets.
