ACT Handled 107,803 TEUs in 3rd Monthly 'Record' Performance

Amman, Oct. 4 (Petra) –Aqaba Container Terminal (ACT) handled 107,803 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in September, setting a monthly record for the third consecutive month, while serving 53 vessels.

In its statement Sunday, the company said September marked the third straight month in which container volumes exceeded 100,000 TEUs, following record handling levels in July and August.

Transit cargo remained a "significant" part of operations, as the terminal handled 14,712 TEUs during September, while truck traffic through the terminal’s gates reached 45,901 movements.

ACT Chief Executive Officer José Rueda said three consecutive months of "record" container volumes reflected Aqaba’s role in regional trade and the terminal’s capacity to accommodate "growing" cargo flows.

Rueda added that: "As the logistics sector continues to develop, the company is focusing on maintaining operational efficiency, connectivity, reliability, and service standards to meet the needs of customers and partners." On its positive impact, he said the recent performance provides a basis for further development and for supporting the growth and "competitiveness" of Jordan’s logistics sector.
