Army chief visits Jordan University of Science and Technology

Amman, May 13 (Petra) – Chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Major General Yousef Huneiti visited the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) and met with university president Khaled Salem on strengthening cooperation in academic, scientific and training.

The discussions, which took place on Wednesday, focused on enhancing collaboration in support of national interests and promoting integration between military and academic institutions.

During the visit, Huneiti attended a presentation by Dr Salem outlining the university’s history, academic programmes, degrees offered and key achievements in education and scientific research.

The presentation highlighted JUST's efforts to keep pace with modern technological advancements and support student entrepreneurship and innovation initiatives.

Huneiti stressed that the visit reflects Royal directives aimed at advancing modernisation and development within the Jordan Armed Forces through effective strategic partnerships with universities and scientific institutions.

He noted that such cooperation contributes to strengthening scientific research, innovation and the exchange of expertise and knowledge.

In the presence of senior Armed Forces officers, university vice presidents and faculty deans, Salem reviewed the university's achievements in international rankings, emphasising its leading positions locally and regionally across several academic and research disciplines.

He reaffirmed the university's commitment to developing an advanced educational and research environment while expanding partnerships with national institutions.

Huneiti praised the university's distinguished scientific standing at the local and regional levels, as well as the achievements of its faculty members and students.

He described these accomplishments as a key pillar supporting Jordan's development and modernisation efforts across various sectors.
