DEF financed 115 projects in Irbid in 1st half of 2026

Irbid, July 9 (Petra) - Dr. Issa Awawdeh, Director of the Development and Employment Fund (DEF) branch in Irbid governorate, said the fund continues its "pioneering and developmental" role in the governorate.

In this context, he referred to step sto empower youth and provide financial and technical support for establishing productive projects that contribute to reducing poverty and unemployment and driving local development.

Awawdeh, in remarks to "Petra," said the fund provided approximately JD1 million in funding for projects in Irbid governorate during the first half of this year.

Awawdeh noted this funding was directed to supporting and developing 115 productive, service, and craft projects in various areas of the governorate.

On their impact, he stated these supported projects "directly" contributed to generating 157 sustainable job opportunities for the governorate's residents, particularly graduates and women.

This effort, he noted, transformed consumer families into productive households that secured self-reliance and self-employment, adding that the fund's financing facilities in Irbid witnessed a "high" turnout from entrepreneurs.

He urged youth in Irbid governorate wishing to establish their own businesses or develop their existing projects to visit the branch headquarters to learn about the available financing facilities and programs, which align with the Kingdom's Economic Modernization Vision.
