Amman, Oct. 11 (Petra) - An explosion inside an East Amman home killed the homeowner and injured two family members on Sunday, according to Public Security Directorate (PSD).

First responders confirmed the homeowner died on impact, when a suspicious object in his scrap pile detonated.

Meanwhile, the PSD said the victim's daughter and granddaughter sustained moderate injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The PSD cleared the residence and launched an investigation into the incident.

To fend off similar incidents, the PSD urged the public never to touch, move, or bring suspicious or unknown objects into their homes, warning that such items pose severe danger and should be reported immediately to police.
