HTU Racing Secures Top Positions at Formula Student UK 2026

Amman, July 22 (Petra) -- Al Hussein Technical University (HTU), one of the initiatives of the Crown Prince Foundation, recorded a strong performance at the Formula Student UK 2026 competition in the United Kingdom, where its student team HTU Racing competed alongside more than 100 university teams from around the world.

According to a university statement, HTU Racing claimed first place in the Cost and Manufacturing Award category, which evaluates teams’ capabilities in managing project costs, manufacturing processes, and applying engineering designs in practical production environments.

The team also achieved second place in the Engineering Design Event, a highly competitive category that assesses the quality of vehicle design, innovation, technical solutions, and the overall development process.

In addition, HTU Racing secured third place in the Real World AI category, which focuses on applying artificial intelligence technologies to practical challenges in engineering and automotive applications, demonstrating the students’ ability to integrate advanced technologies into real-world solutions.

Formula Student UK is recognized as one of the world’s leading engineering and design competitions, bringing together university teams to develop and build Formula-style race cars and compete through comprehensive evaluations covering design, manufacturing, performance, project management, and commercial aspects. The teams’ projects are reviewed by experts from the automotive and engineering industries, offering students an opportunity to test their technical knowledge and practical skills in an international setting.

Through its participation, HTU Racing represented the university and Jordan, highlighting the role of applied engineering education, collaborative teamwork, and innovation in transforming academic expertise into practical engineering projects.
