Jordan Participates in 29th Arab Industrial Development Organization General Assembly in Libya

Amman, July 16 (Petra)-- Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply, Dana Al-Zoubi, headed the Jordanian delegation to the 29th General Assembly of the Arab Industrial Development, Standardization and Mining Organization (AIDSMO), held in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, from July 14 to 16, 2026.

The assembly was held under the patronage and in the presence of Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh and brought together Arab ministers and heads of delegations to discuss the organization's work program and budget for 2027–2028.

Participants reviewed 19 projects aimed at strengthening Arab industrial integration, promoting sustainable industrial development, expanding the use of artificial intelligence in the industrial and mining sectors, and officially launching the Arab Industrial Indicators Platform.

Al-Zoubi stressed the importance of enhancing Arab industrial cooperation and developing mechanisms for greater regional integration to improve the competitiveness of the industrial sector, encourage investment, and facilitate the exchange of expertise and best practices among Arab countries.

She also underscored the need to keep pace with technological advancements and digital transformation by leveraging artificial intelligence applications to modernize the industrial and mining sectors, support sustainable industrial development, and enhance the global competitiveness of Arab industries.

During the meetings, Youssef Al-Maliki was elected Director General of the organization, succeeding Adel Saqr.

Al-Zoubi has served as a member of the organization's Executive Council since 2024. The council oversees the organization's programs and policies, promotes industrial coordination and cooperation among Arab states, and prepares the organization's budget and final accounts for approval by the General Assembly.
