Jordan Promotes Tourism, Culture in Madrid Marking 80th Independence Anniversary

Amman, June 25 (Petra) -- The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB), in cooperation with the Jordanian Embassy in Madrid, held a cultural reception in the Spanish capital marking Jordanian national occasions and the 80th anniversary of Independence.

The event was held under the patronage of Jordan’s Ambassador to Spain Raghad Al Saqqa and attended by Her Royal Highness Princess Sara bint Asem.

According to a statement by the JTB on Thursday, the ceremony showcased Jordan’s cultural heritage through traditional performances and displays, including dabke, folk costumes and embroidery, handicrafts, and music, reflecting various aspects of Jordanian identity.

The program also featured promotional presentations highlighting Jordan’s tourism sector and investment opportunities, in addition to its natural, historical, and religious attractions, presenting the Kingdom as a safe and attractive destination.

Royal Jordanian Airlines supported the event by organizing a raffle draw offering two airline tickets to Jordan as part of efforts to promote tourism.

In remarks during the event, Ambassador Al Saqqa said the 80th anniversary of Independence represents a key milestone in Jordan’s national journey of development and progress under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II.

The event was attended by Spanish officials, representatives of the tourism, economic, and cultural sectors, members of the diplomatic corps, and members of the Jordanian community in Madrid.
