Amman, May 30 (Petra) – Personnel from the Jordanian Helicopter Task Force/Congo (2), operating within the United Nations peacekeeping forces in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, took part Friday in celebrations marking the International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers, observed annually on May 29.

The participation honors the sacrifices and contributions of international peacekeepers (Blue Helmets) in maintaining global security and peace, fostering stability in conflict zones, and providing humanitarian services to crisis-affected communities.

The event featured various activities and programs reflecting commitment to the UN peacekeeping mission, highlighting ongoing efforts to establish security and support local communities within deployment areas.

The participation underscores the dedication of the Jordanian Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) to performing international duties efficiently, reflecting military discipline and professionalism in global peacekeeping operations.

JAF holds a long history of international participation, having deployed over the past 66 years to more than 38 countries worldwide. The Armed Forces have established 20 field hospitals, surgical stations, and medical clinics globally operating up to 10 medical facilities and managing 15 concurrent missions at one time.

These missions have provided medical care to over four million patients. During this history of service, 44 Jordanian personnel have fallen in the line of duty while serving international peace and security.
