Mild Weather to Persist Before Turning Moderate by Thursday

Amman, April 28 (Petra) -- Mild conditions are prevailing on Tuesday, with a stable weather pattern expected to continue over the next two days before temperatures edge higher toward seasonal averages by Thursday, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department.

Weather remains mild across the highlands and plains, while relatively warmer conditions continue in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Cloud cover is present at varying altitudes, particularly in eastern regions, where isolated showers may develop in parts of the northeastern Badia, occasionally accompanied by thunder and hail. Winds are northwesterly and moderate, becoming active at times.

The Meteorological Department warned of reduced horizontal visibility during the early morning hours due to fog formation over high mountainous areas and parts of the plains. It also cautioned against the risk of thunderstorms and hail in northeastern areas, in addition to slippery road conditions in locations experiencing rainfall.

Similar conditions are expected on Wednesday, with mild weather continuing across most regions and relatively warmer conditions in low-lying areas. Some medium- and high-level clouds will persist, while northwesterly winds remain moderate and occasionally active.

A gradual shift is forecast on Thursday, with a slight rise in temperatures bringing conditions closer to seasonal averages. Weather will turn moderate across most regions, while warmer conditions persist in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Cloud cover will remain at medium and high altitudes, with northwesterly winds continuing at moderate speeds.

Stable conditions are expected to continue on Friday, with moderate weather across most regions and warmer conditions in low-lying areas. Winds will remain northwesterly and moderate, becoming active at times.

Temperature ranges on Tuesday reflect regional variation, with East Amman forecast between 23 C and 14 C, and West Amman between 21 C and 12 C. Northern highlands will record 19 C to 10 C, while the Sharah highlands range between 20 C and 9 C.

In the Badia, temperatures are expected between 28 C and 16 C, and in the plains between 23 C and 14 C. The northern Jordan Valley is forecast at 28 C to 16 C, rising to 32 C to 22 C in the southern valley. The Dead Sea will record 31 C to 19 C, while Aqaba reaches 31 C to 21 C.
