Princess Sumaya, Public Works Minister Discuss Cooperation

Amman, May 7 (Petra) -- HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, President of the Royal Scientific Society (RSS), on Thursday received Minister of Public Works and Housing Maher Abu Samen at the RSS headquarters to discuss enhancing cooperation based on the principle of interdependent independence and in line with Royal visions calling for unified efforts to serve Jordan.

During the meeting, Princess Sumaya highlighted the strong relations between the RSS and the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, reflected in several agreements aimed at advancing and developing the construction sector.

She said the ministry is among the RSS’s key partners, stressing that the society will implement the agreements and fulfill its commitments to remain a trusted partner and the government’s technical arm in supporting and advancing development in Jordan.

Princess Sumaya said the RSS works to safeguard public health and safety, protect the environment, and contribute to sustainable economic development.

For his part, Abu Samen said the ministry is committed to consolidating transparency and professionalism in technical testing of construction materials. He praised the strategic partnership with the RSS as a trusted technical and laboratory arm that ensures quality control across road and building projects.

Abu Samen said the close cooperation serves citizens by producing accurate scientific results on production sources, making the RSS a decisive technical reference for resolving disputes between contractors and employers and a key driver in introducing the latest global quality control technologies to Jordan.

He stressed that the ministry will continue expanding the use of the RSS’s scientific and consulting expertise as a leading national research and development institution to ensure construction projects are implemented according to the highest modern engineering and technical standards.
