Youth Ministry hosts Saudi Al-Thahab Sports Club during training camp

Amman, Oct. 3 (Petra) -- The Ministry of Youth hosted Saturday the president and board members of Saudi Al-Thahab Sports Club, in the presence of Minister of Youth Raed Adwan, Vice President of the Jordan Football Association (JFA) Marwan Juma, Al-Thahab Club President Khalid Al-Mutairi, Ministry of Youth Secretary-General Mazen Abu Baqar, and a number of Jordanian club presidents.

Al-Adwan stressed the depth of the brotherly relations and ties between Jordan and Saudi Arabia, whose foundations were laid by His Majesty King Abdullah II and his brother Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in various fields, particularly youth and sports.

He explained that Jordan, under its Hashemite leadership, attaches great importance to the sports sector, noting that the Kingdom has become a main destination for sports clubs. He pointed out that the ministry translates royal directives by working to prepare and develop sports infrastructure in service of the youth and sports movement in the Kingdom.

He added that hosting Arab clubs and sports teams in the ministry's youth and sports cities and facilities contributes to enhancing sports cooperation and exchanging expertise among Arab clubs, noting the ministry's keenness to make sports facilities available to Arab clubs and teams to hold their training camps and benefit from the potential available in youth cities.

For his part, the Al-Thahab Club president expressed his appreciation for the Ministry of Youth for the facilities it provided to the club during its stay in the Kingdom, affirming that the club experienced great hospitality from the Jordanian people and a warm reception from the Jordanian government, reflecting the depth of the relations between Jordan and Saudi Arabia at both the leadership and popular levels.

He affirmed that holding the training camp in Jordan represents an important experience for the club, praising the sports facilities provided by the Ministry of Youth and valuing the cooperation the ministry showed during the camp.

For his part, Juma affirmed the depth of relations between Jordan and Saudi Arabia, especially in the sports field, stressing the importance of hosting football training camps for their contribution to exchanging sports expertise and promoting tourism.

The reception of Saudi Al-Thahab Club comes on the sidelines of the training camp the club is holding in Jordan from Sept. 23 to Oct. 8 in preparation for the Saudi football season, with the team training at Prince Mohammad International Stadium in the Prince Mohammad Youth City in Zarqa Governorate.
