AFC opens media accreditation for Saudi Arabia 2027 Asian Cup

Amman, Sept. 16 (Petra) -- The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has opened media accreditation applications for the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027, scheduled to take place from January 7 to February 5, featuring 24 national teams.

The AFC invited media organizations wishing to cover the tournament including journalists, photographers, and non-rights-holding broadcasters to apply through the new AFC Media Channel: https://www.afcas.org/login/media-registration. The deadline for submitting applications is Monday, November 30, 2026.

Upon approval, accredited media personnel will receive an email outlining further steps, including registering via the "Ahlan" portal to process their participation credentials, entry visas, and photography permits. Foreign media representatives must enter Saudi Arabia using the approved media visa issued through the "Ahlan" system.

The tournament marks the Jordan national football team's (Al-Nashama) sixth appearance in the finals. Jordan was drawn in Group B alongside Uzbekistan, Bahrain, and North Korea.

Al-Nashama will kick off their campaign against Uzbekistan on Friday, January 8, at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, before facing Bahrain on Wednesday, January 13, at the same venue. They will complete the group stage against North Korea on Sunday, January 17, at Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University Stadium in Riyadh.
