Ajloun figures outline key takeaways from Royal speech opening Parliament

Ajloun, Nov. 2 (Petra) -- Public figures in Ajloun Governorate said the Speech from the Throne delivered at the opening of the third ordinary session of the 20th Parliament reaffirmed Jordan's established principles and conveyed important messages on the need to strengthen the rule of law, expand public participation, and improve services provided to citizens.

Former minister Malek Haddad said the speech reflected the King's vision for safeguarding Jordan's security and stability and strengthening its ability to confront regional challenges. He stressed the importance of concerted efforts to preserve the country's achievements across various sectors and build on them.

Firas Al-Hanandeh, president of Ajloun National University (ANU), highlighted the importance of the Speech from the Throne's emphasis on education's role in supporting the modernization process and aligning educational outcomes with labor market needs. This, he said, would help prepare qualified professionals capable of serving the country and contributing to its future development.

Mouawiya Annab, chairman of the Ajloun Governorate Council committee, said the speech underscored the importance of sustaining development efforts across governorates and strengthening partnerships among government institutions, local councils and communities. Such cooperation, he added, would ensure that development projects and programs reflect citizens' priorities and needs.

Ismail Al-Aroud, chairman of the Kofranjah New Municipality committee, said the speech highlighted the need to improve municipal services, upgrade infrastructure, and strengthen municipalities' role in improving service delivery and local development.

He stressed the importance of cooperation between government institutions and municipalities to implement development projects.

Director of the Ajloun Culture Directorate Samer Freihat highlighted the importance of promoting values of national belonging and loyalty, preserving Jordan's cultural heritage, and supporting cultural activities and programs that raise public awareness, encourage dialogue, and foster respect for differing opinions.

Director of the Ajloun Awqaf Directorate Safwan Al-Qudah stressed the need to promote moderation, tolerance, and the rejection of extremism while strengthening social cohesion. He emphasized the role of religious institutions in raising awareness and reinforcing national responsibility.

Eman Freihat, a local academic figure, said the speech placed citizens at the center of national priorities by stressing the importance of improving access to education, employment, and healthcare; ensuring fairness in the distribution of opportunities; and creating an environment that enables young people to innovate.

Faten Al-Ghazou, a member of the Volunteer Service Coordination Committee, highlighted the importance of promoting a culture of volunteerism and social responsibility and expanding the participation of young people and women in development and humanitarian initiatives.
