Amman, Nov. 3 (Petra) - The Azerbaijan Tourism Board hosted a business-to-business (B2B) networking event titled Experience Azerbaijan on Monday evening in Amman to promote Azerbaijani tourism, showcase product offerings, and boost travel sector ties.
The event drew in 66 travel professionals representing 48 Jordanian tourism companies, alongside Azerbaijan Tourism Board CEO Florian Sengstschmid and Azerbaijani Ambassador to Jordan Shahin Abdullayev.
Presenters exhibited Azerbaijan's year-round attractions across major destinations, including Baku, Qabala, Shahdagh, Quba, Qusar, and Shaki, focusing on family travel, luxury resorts, winter sports, eco-adventure, wellness retreats, and Muslim-friendly hospitality.
Three major Azerbaijani companies, including national carrier Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), held meetings with Jordanian travel agencies and tour operators to develop commercial partnerships. Travel between the two countries is currently supported by weekly charter flights operated jointly by AZAL and Fly Jordan.
During the official visit, Sengstschmid also met with Jordan Tourism Board Director General Ramzi Maaytah to study expanding direct flight frequencies and simplifying visa procedures to foster reciprocal tourism.
